A vintage Chinese Art Deco wool rug from the Tientsin weaving tradition, with a muted rose field centered by a circular longevity-style medallion and framed by a golden border of stylized lotus blossoms, floral sprays and scrolling motifs. The open composition, rich wool pile and decorative palette are characteristic of Nichols and Fette-style Chinese rugs produced for the Western market, likely 1930s-1950s.
