Kashan Stonepaste Bowl with Stylized Birds, Persia

A Persian stonepaste bowl attributed to Kashan, dating to the late 12th to early 13th century. The broad conical form is raised on a low circular foot and decorated beneath a transparent glaze with stylized birds, scrolling vegetal motifs and radiating painted elements in muted black and gray-blue tones.
The surface shows extensive glaze weathering and iridescent alteration, with areas of wear and restoration. Attribution and dating are based on form, materials, decoration, construction and visible surface characteristics; the piece has not been scientifically tested for age.

- Property from an important private collection, assembled by a dealer and collector over more than six decades.
- Condition
- Extensive old breaks and restoration, with reassembled sections, fills, glaze and pigment wear, surface weathering, crazing and minor rim losses. Please refer to photographs.
