Chinese Textile-Impressed Stoneware Dish,

A shallow Chinese stoneware dish or stand, attributed to the Warring States period, with a broad recessed center, raised inner ridge and rounded outer flange. The unglazed surface shows dense textile or mat impressions, with a small applied S-scroll motif to the rim.
The form and surface treatment are consistent with early provincial Chinese stoneware traditions, including cloth-impressed wares associated with eastern China. Attribution and dating are based on form, materials, construction and visible surface characteristics; the piece has not been scientifically tested for age.
