A small medieval Islamic fritware vessel attributed to Raqqa, Syria, with rounded body, short neck and applied loop handle. Decorated in turquoise glaze with vertical cobalt-blue and dark painted bands, the surface showing extensive crackle, iridescent alteration and weathering consistent with substantial age.
Attribution and dating are based on form, materials, glaze, construction and visible surface characteristics; the piece has not been scientifically tested for age.
