A Chinese archaic jade cong of compact form, centered by a circular aperture and carved in two registers with stylized mask motifs, circular eyes, finely striated bands, and geometric details associated with the Liangzhu tradition. The stone with extensive cream, buff, and ochre surface alteration, revealing areas of green stone beneath. Possibly Neolithic, Liangzhu culture.
