A finely hand-knotted Persian prayer rug, attributed to Kashan or Isfahan, early 20th century. The burgundy field is densely filled with flowering branches rising toward a prominent floral vase beneath a shaped prayer niche, accented in turquoise, blue, ivory, rose and green. Multiple finely drawn floral and arabesque borders surround the central composition.
