A carved wood ritual figure attributed to the Mambila peoples of the Cameroon-Nigeria border region, of the type commonly known as tadep. The figure has a heart-shaped concave face, projecting eyes, broad lips, compact body, bent arms and heavy legs. Traces of red pigment and lighter material remain around the face, with a dark worn surface throughout. Likely early to mid-20th century, possibly earlier.
