Persian Zoomorphic Blue-Glazed Ewer

A small molded stonepaste ewer of zoomorphic form, attributed to Seljuk-period Persia, likely Central Iran. The lobed body rises to a narrow neck formed as a stylized animal or bird head with applied circular eyes and open mouth, joined by a tall strap handle with rounded terminal. Covered in a deep cobalt-blue glaze with extensive crackling, burial encrustation and areas of iridescence.

- Property from an important private collection, assembled by a dealer and collector over more than six decades.
- Condition
- Extensive age-related wear and burial deposits. Large structural loss to the lower body with detached fragments retained, additional cracking, glaze loss and surface degradation. Please refer to photographs.
