Lot 19
Korean Goryeo Dynasty Celadon Dish-Mouth Vase
Estimate$3,000–$5,000
Offered in A Lifetime of Discovery III · Sunday, November 1, 2026, To be announced
A Korean celadon stoneware vase attributed to the Goryeo Dynasty, with a broad shouldered body rising to a waisted neck and pronounced dish-shaped mouth. Covered overall in a softly mottled blue-green to olive celadon glaze with extensive fine crackle, subtle vertical incised decoration creating a gently lobed or melon-form effect, and areas of bluish pooling across the shoulder.
The wheel-thrown construction, exposed stoneware body, sand or clay spur support residue around the foot, and restrained celadon decoration are consistent with Korean Goryeo ceramic traditions. The vessel displays substantial age and surface weathering. Attribution is based on form, materials, glaze and construction; the vessel has not been scientifically tested for age.
