A carved wood female figure, probably Tanzania, East Africa, with broad head, geometric facial features and extensive aged fiber bindings around the neck, torso and legs. Possible Zigua (Zigwa/Zigula) or related Tanzanian origin.

Condition
Surface wear, cracking and losses; fiber bindings worn and frayed. Mounted on a later display base.
